The Emerging Leaders Council
Founded in 1997, the Emerging Leaders Council is made up of professional volunteers and emerging leaders united by determination and dedication to educating our communities in the prevention, treatment and cure for digestive diseases. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, we focus on funding leading-edge research by supporting diverse physicians and scientists early in their careers.

Funding the Future of Digestive Diseases
In late 2023, the Emerging Leaders Council raised more than $23,000 in their virtual campaigns to support the field leaders of today and tomorrow in their research efforts.
A special thank you to Katie Bryan Rainey, Associates Board member, for offering her Senior Line Producer services, and to the other volunteers who donated their time, services, and expertise to honor Dr. Joseph B. Kirsner’s legacy and raise funds for the GI leaders of today and tomorrow through the Fund the Future Virtual Campaign.
