The Emerging Leaders Council
Founded in 1997, the Emerging Leaders Council is made up of volunteers and emerging leaders united by determination and dedication to educating our communities in the prevention, treatment and cure for digestive diseases. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, we focus on funding leading-edge research by supporting diverse physicians and scientists early in their careers.
Join us for Gut Moving on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Studio Three, Fulton Market. Enjoy simultaneous HIIT and yoga classes, a live DJ, top Health & Wellness vendors, and a brief presentation on the GI Research Foundation’s impact.
Three Stories. One Message: Research Changes Lives.
In this powerful video, three patients living with digestive diseases share their personal journeys—what it’s like to face Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, and GI cancer—and how research has led to better treatments, better outcomes, and renewed hope.
But their stories also make one thing clear: we’re not done yet.
Thanks to the GI Research Foundation, bold research is turning possibility into progress. With continued support, we can accelerate breakthroughs and bring relief to millions still waiting.
Watch. Share. Support. Because research moves forward—with you.
Ideas Alone Don’t Change Lives, Research Does
Behind every medical breakthrough is an idea—and the support to make it real. At the GI Research Foundation, we give bold ideas the early support they need to become real treatments. From Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis to liver disease and GI cancers, we help researchers move fast—without red tape.
This video shows how your support of the GI Research Foundation can spark life-changing discoveries.
No delays. No waste. Just results.
