Open/Close Menu Supporting Research at the University of Chicago Medicine Digestive Diseases Center

We are combining fitness, fun, and fundraising. So, grab your gym shoes and join us!

Join us on February 23 — from 1-3 PM — at LA Fitness Hyde Park for the inaugural Team up for GI Research Spin Event, put on by the Associates Board. We are breaking a good sweat and spreading the word about the GI Research Foundation (GIRF). With the help of trained cycling instructors (and some great music), cycle teams of four will ride in twenty-minute intervals. If you don’t want the workout, you can offer your support and cheer along the riders.

“This event is to both engage and educate those with GI issues — as well as their friends and family,” says Brad Peterson, GIRF Associates Board president. “GIRF not only fundraises for GI research that leads to cures — but it is also a strong network of resources for those affected by GI diseases. We encourage anyone who is looking for more information about GIRF and how to get involved to come to this event.”

Aside from cycling, this event also features inspiring speakers from GIRF and the University of Chicago Medicine, as well as exhibits and GIRF-sponsored informational tables.

Registration is only $25 per rider or $10 to cheer on riders. All funds raised go directly towards research grants gifted from GIRF’s Associates Board. For more information and to register, visit GIRF’s website here. Act now, these bike spots are filling up quickly!
