A big welcome to the new GIRF board members. We celebrated the appointments of six new Main Board members and nine new Associates Board on March 28 at WeWork in Fulton Market. Current members Katie Chudnovsky, Michael P. Cogan, Steven Davidson, and Howard Grill offered their appreciation and words of wisdom to the new members. Longtime board members Bee Crain and Ralph Kauffman were also in attendance. Their decades of support continue to be invaluable. Board member Murray Alscher welcomed the new folks too.
Guests enjoyed a special presentation by Dr. David Rubin. He provided new members with the history of GIRF and the current growth of University of Chicago Medicine. Dr. Rubin encouraged our new members to get active and stay passionate for the Foundation.
Mark de Souza, Karyn Hurwich, Biana Lanson. Ileene-Marie Mooney, Benjamin Pogofsky and Ben Riback are new to the main board. Matt Bumba, Kurt Dziama, Sarah Goldberg, Rachel Hendee, Joan Lines, Luigi Loizzo, Jaclyn Montagano, Dominic Sanchez and Rachel Vass are our new Associate Board members.
We look forward to the new board members attending and supporting the Ball, fundraising events and GIRF initiatives. We’ll certainly have a packed house at our upcoming board meetings.
